Shade Empire - Interview
Hey readers of V.U., here´s a small interview for all the fans of Shade Empire out there. I hope there are quite many of you after their gig at the popkomm in Berlin on 22nd of September! But now, I am sure you are eager for some statements from the band!

V.U.:First of all, let´s talk a little about your new album Intoxicate O.S., which is going to be released worldwide in the end of october! In Finland, it was already released in May. How were the reactions of your fans?
Reactions have been quite overwhelming. Everyone has said that we have take a big step when comparing IOS to our debut album Sinthetic. And to be honest it has been a little bit suprise how our fanbase has grown for example here in Finland.
V.U.: Do you have any favorite songs on your new album? Or do you like them all the same?
Well of course I think this is a very good package of superb songs that you can’t just pop out one song...maybe my own favorites are Slitwrist Ecstasy and Embrace the Gods of Suffering... They are both great songs to play live also, lots of headbanging!
V.U.: Do you plan to do a club tour on your own in Europe soon? Or rather as a support for some „big“ band? I think your fans would really like to see you playing for more than just an hour...
Yeah, I’ll totally agree with that. Usually these tours and so on aren’t in our hands.. Of course we’d like to tour as much as we can, but it’s totally up to our record label, managements and so on... It is in hopes to get european tour even in this year!
V.U.: Think about the cheap beer, go touring in Germany now... I think you have an extraordinary cool artwork for your new album! It really fits to your sound, cheers to the artist, Jarno Lahti! How did you work together, did you tell him what to do and he implemented your ideas, or did he prepare the artwork in total first and then asked you if you like it? Or am I totally wrong?
Well we gave almost free hands to Jarno. We just send him demo versions of our new songs and he started to grow up his ideas. As work progressed we just said few things what should change but all in all I’m hugely pleased also with the artwork! I fucking like it.
V.U.: In addition to your album, you also made a cool video clip for your song „chemical god“. What´s your personal intention on video clips? I can imagine it´s a tough job doing the same posing and stuff over and over again...
Well you got it right. It was a hell of a job to film video, but it was worth of it. We shooted the whole video at one night and played the song approximately 30 times over and over again, so huge work. Main aim for the video was just give something extra to our fans and also it was good promotion also, launch the video just before the album was released here in Finland.
V.U.: Thanks for your time! Bang on!
Thank you and it was pleasure to answer!
