"Song-Sy-Song"-Special zum Konkhra-Album "Nothing Is Sacred"

by Anders Lundemark
----------------------------------------

Hail To The King:

This one was the first fast song we wrote for the new album. It was quite exiting to get the wicked bassdrum combos up and running, its a 250 bpm song with a great melody breakdown. On the lyrical side, we toyed with the "Hail to the chief" march theme and we wanted to get the loss of personal freedoms on the altar of safety adressed and quick, because its a historical repeat of every fascist failure in the past. The nazis were blunt about this, and Himmler actually once said: We are mislabeled as our political philosophy would be much more accurate if described as a Corporatocracy". Someone who is holded your leash, still swears by this creed today.

Religion Is A Whore:

Speaks for itself, and this is our new mantra for the weak of mind. There is nothing to be gained from patenting the truth in a world truly feeble and lost in the understanding of the cosmos, that we simply cannot allow this insanity to exist anymore. Religious people are dangerous and must be kept from power as they will polute any discussion with their righteous clauses and their exclusion of anyone who is not a true believer. It is in the nature of all religions to be exclusive, and therefore we must subvert and unravel this suffocating grip on humankind.

Breathe The Fear:
Control by division, divide and conquer. Ancient philosophies teaches us there is no advancement without opposition. This is probably a universal law, and the only weapon left for ordinary people is the aquisition of knowlegde to lever the fear, which is a natural response to the unknown. Breathing the fear is probably as natural as breathing itself. There is an intro from the Art Bell radio show, where an unknown caller claims to have worked at area 51 and that the extraterrestrial presence on Earth is of a multidimensional kind..

Killswitch:
This song is a pure Death Metal rage on the ignorants doom to repeat history. There are specifics of the lyrical side I'd like to leave for the listener to work out, as I am delving deep into esoteric territory, and this bears witness to the fact that the Truth cannot be told, it has to be witnessed, and that the best slave one could ever dream of, if the one that thinks he is already free.

Nothing Is Sacred:
This one is a fast reminder that one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. It is a matter of philosophy, and again we are delving into the rot of todays misguided politics and the stigma of speaking out for fear of accusations of unpatriotism and the like, which is proliferant in our society. It is mandatory that people understand the destinction and use their votes without mandating fools to fight wars of philosophy when the futures energy supplies are really whats at stake.

The Legacy Of Truth:
Or should I say inherited truth. This one was written right after the first problems with the catholic priests and the subsequent cover up by the church.

Sufficient To Sicken:
Its inpired by the current pope, and his flirt with the Nazis. There are great stories published on this subject, and the only natural follow up to this is to examine what the differences are between the Nazi philosophies and other totalitarian beliefs systems, as the catholic church, for example. The likenesses are ripe, and there is alot of esoterica on the subject, which is well founded and very interesting in books like Jim Marrs, The Fourth Reich.

The Race:
Is potentially the most controversial of the songs, but the truth is a little closer to earth than you might think. The Race is the race to feed, breed and pay for all is you go along. This current paradigm holds a promise of eternal slavery, as the less fortunate fights the wars and gets the cuts and bruises as they toil to push the luxury goods and, indeed, everything of value to the ones who posses a higher spot in the hirarchy.

I Defy:
Is the realisation that ultimately we are all alone. We have to take the final plunge by ourselves, and although there is solace in knowing that nothingness includes the perception of nothingness, and therefore there is nothing to fear, really. You can be who are to begin with, and thats actually perfectly ok, after all, that is how you were born.

The Promise Of Antagonism:
Is where we close this chapter, and again we acknowledge the need for a countermeasure to everything, and understand that the nature of the universe is such as there can be no progression without opposition. Maybe we just need to change the labels, as they are currently misguiding and are keepers of a truth less profound, and understanding The Game is paramount, if you want to come out either above or below, as the lowest common denominator is mediocrity at work and subversion to this equals (at least spiritual) death.
