"Song-Sy-Song"-Special zum Paganize-Album "Evolution Hour"
by Tor Seltveit (Bass)
----------------------------------------
1. The Hour
Mausethagen/Rokne/Fredheim/Seltveit
A fast opening riff kicks of the record. Then everything seems to stall, a man on the edge’s last thoughts about the world around him. Is there another way…….. I’ve lost my fate…..
2. Conscience
Rokne/Fredheim/Helgaseth
Your mind plays tricks on you, just like the music it goes in several directions at the same time. Are we really in control of ourselves? A Paganize prog moment.
3. Dark
Mausethagen/Fredheim
Someone walks alone through the night every hour of their life. Beautiful, violent and raw edged guitars, bass and drums…then a touch of hope but then again it’s only darkness.
4. Hollow
Fredheim/Rokne
What remains when all you’ve ever had collapse? Well you go out on a mission to conquer everything and everyone. You’ve tried it all and still, you haven’t got what you need! You realise you’ve become Hollow!!
5. Turn Of The Tide
Seltveit
An uptempo bass intro kicks off the fastest track on the album.
The lyrics are about a man who has just passed on to the other side. Fortunately it was all a bad dream…. or was it?
6. The Wraith
Rokne/Fredheim/Helgaseth
Someone can’t let go and someone won’t go. They just weren’t given enough time The title was taken from an 80’s horror movie starring Charlie Sheen. The song came instantly when the riff was played well over three years ago.
7. Divinity In Vain
Seltveit
A pretty straight forward heavy metal song. The lyrics to this one is pretty much open for interpretation, it does have a meaning in there though, but I won’t tell you what!
8. Blind Eyes
Seltveit/Fredheim/Pershaug
Following the idea that someone’s watching over us. You can call it what you want but it must be a grim joke- or is he blind!!! Aggressive and with a thrashy twist this one builds around a beautiful bridge and a desperate refrain.
9. Mary King’s Close
Mausethagen/Seltveit
Built around a somewhat power-metalish riff, this one takes place in Edinburgh back in the 18th Century
10. Unfolded
Rokne/Fredheim/Helgaseth
A man speaks his heart out, to you, to strangers and to everyone that wants to listen. You know him, you’ve seen him around, the local loony. He speaks but his story is never revealed.
